Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017

What’s it about?

Henry VIII’s wives are back from the grave to form a sassy girl group whose members compete for the position of leading lady through presenting their hardships of marriage to the audience, with the most hard-done-by to win the title.

What makes it good?

It was structured like a real concert where there was a mix of different tempo numbers and choreography, with each assigned to perfectly match the story of the queens singing them. You get a complete history lesson you won’t forget as well as an hour of top entertainment.

The best bits

Jane Seymour’s excellent vocal range • The witty innuendos made at the expense of the chauvinistic Henry VIII – which means girl power was actually founded several centuries before the Spice Girls.
